The word “Korozo” comes from the seeds of a palm tree grown in the rainforests of South America and which is widely used as a raw material in the production of buttons. That is where our story begins, with Korozo Düğme Fabrikası Ltd mass-producing buttons in 1934. Since then:

The company was acquired by the Duvenyaz family and began manufacturing flexible packaging at its factory in the Sefaköy district of Istanbul.

1981

The first garbage and freezer bags were being produced under the Koroplast brand, which is synonymous with kitchen products in Türkiye to this day.

1990 - 1992

Export sales of packaging products began in 1990, leading to investment in flexible packaging production in 1992.

ISO 9001 logo

1996 - 2001

1996 saw the company achieve its first ISO 9001 accreditation and by 2001, it was on acquisition trail, buying Saf Plastic from Huhtamaki Group.

2002 - 2004

Then came the opening of our first international sales and distribution office in Germany in 2002, followed closely in 2004 by the opening of a new office in the UK and the signing of a joint venture agreement with Korsini Packaging Companies to create in-mould label solutions specialist Korsini.

Korozo Group Hygiene business began with investment in the production of hygiene components.

2007 - 2008

Korozo Group open in France and enter Sedex.

With our unrelenting commitment to sustainability, we signed up to the UN Global Compact.

2016

While further investments continued in hygiene and kitchen consumables, this year saw Korozo Group enter the European Free Trade Zone with investment in Europe’s largest integrated production facility at Çorlu, Türkiye.

VitraPack building

2017 - 2020

The largest private equity group in Türkiye, Actera Group, acquired the business in 2017, completed the acquisition of VitraPack Belgium in 2019, then started up production at a second factory in Çorlu in 2020.
